COVID-19 Relief Fund Agency Recipients
April 30th, 2020
Land O’ Lakes, FL – We are happy to announce that thanks to the tremendous support we have received from our community, over 30 agencies received funds through our COVID-19 Relief Fund.
Agencies were awarded based on their submitted grant applications. Applications were reviewed by community volunteers. Applicants were required to meet the United Way of Pasco standards by providing proper 501C3 documentation and ensuring that the awarded funds are for direct service. Agencies requested funds for food, hygiene products, cleaning supplies, medical supplies, distance learning technology, utility assistance for clients, and childcare.
On Wednesday April 22nd, the UWPC Board of Directors approved recommendations by the Allocations Committee.
A total of $57,800 was awarded to our agencies in three funding waves to assist families and individuals in Pasco County. Of the total amount, about $22,000 went for food assistance, nearly $17,000 went towards hygiene products, about $6,700 went for cleaning supplies, about $5,500 for medical supplies and personal protective equipment (PPE), about $3,600 for utility assistance, and about $2,000 for childcare for essential employees. An additional $4,000 in-kind donations were awarded for distance learning technology.
Awards were contingent upon required documentation.
Although this is the final round of funding for the COVID-19 Agency Mini-Grant opportunity, United Way of Pasco continues to assist residents of Pasco County with rent and utility assistance. Individuals requiring this type of assistance may call our free 24/7 hotline at 2-1-1.
