  • BAYCARE BEHAVIORAL HEALTH:

PROGRAM: Medical Outpatient Services:, This service offers education, socialization, employment skills, and support to individuals who have a mental health diagnosis. It is a peer lead, peer support program with staff support that helps to empower all participants to move them towards recovery. The primary goal is for an individual to become more productive in the community and eliminate or reduce the need for inpatient crisis stabilization. We reduce relapse rates as well as reduce costly inpatient behavioral health hospitalizations. We want the client to remain engaged in treatment and adhere to treatment plan goals or be successfully discharged from medical services. Medical management services are provided by Psychiatrists and APRNs, with support of nurses and psychiatric techs. We consider the medical history and all medications that are currently being prescribed for contraindications. We grow a relationship with patient’s PCP and our medical outpatient team. When prescribing medication, the medical staff considers many factors in addition to the individual's overall health. An example of this is the consideration of the individual's payer source and ability to pay for and/or obtain the prescribed medication. We assist individuals by providing medication purchased through our State contract, as well as, pharmaceutical company sponsored patient assistance programs when eligible.

When they come together to decide which of the thousands of Girl Scout activities to try, the sky’s the limit. Whether visiting an animal shelter, camping, hosting a dance-off or filming a movie—they’re learning to take risks, trust their gut and team up with others for good.

HERO TO A CHILD, GUARDIAN AT LITEM FOUNDATION:

PROGRAM: Education Needs in Foster Care: supports children in foster care, addressing their essential needs, education, and emotional well-being through community contributions. Education is a fundamental right that every child deserves, but children in foster care often face unique challenges that make it difficult for them to succeed academically. These children have experienced trauma, separation from their families, and often move from one home to another, making it difficult for them to establish stable relationships and academic routines. Meeting the educational needs of foster children is crucial to help them break the cycle of poverty and achieve their full potential. Hero To A Child works to support the educational goals of every child in care by supporting their individual needs as they arrive: funding tutoring when they fall behind, purchasing technology devices to support home study, scholarships for those seeking post-secondary education, school supplies and uniforms so they go to school prepared, etc. We believe that, with the right support, these kids can achieve their educational goals.

QUALIFICATIONS FOR PARTICIPATION : All children and youth served through our programs are school age (5-17) kids in the Pinellas and Pasco child welfare system.
