More than half of the children in Florida qualify for free or reduced-price school meals. When school ends for the year, these children can still eat FREE all summer long.
The Summer BreakSpot Program is the Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services (DCAS) summer feeding program meant to fill the gap so students still have access to nutritious meals. Sites are located throughout the county and some serve two meals daily.
There are NO application forms or qualification requirements. ALL children qualify and just show up to eat!
United Way’s 2-1-1 Information & Referral Service, in partnership with DACS and Florida Impact, is playing a pivotal role in helping Pasco County families learn about the availability of summer meals. For more information about a site near you, please call 2-1-1 or check out the Summer BreakSpot website at: www.summerfoodflorida.org.
