Land O’ Lakes, FL (August 4, 2015): United Way of Pasco County has established a relief fund to help local flood victims. Due to recent flooding, more than 61 homes have been severely impacted including low and moderate income residents and elderly families. Repair and recovery expenses may push many of these residents beyond their financial capacity. 100% of donated funds will be used to assist victims and no administrative funds will be used by United Way or its partners.

Duke Energy through their Florida Foundation Council has provided United Way of Pasco County a $10,000 grant to begin the fund and get recovery work under way. Duke Energy will also be assisting by providing volunteers in the field to help flood victims. “Duke Energy is grateful for the work United Way Pasco has planned to respond to the needs of citizens in Pasco County who have been impacted by flooding,” said Alex Glenn, Duke Energy Florida state president, “We are proud to provide this grant to help with the efforts.”

United Way of Pasco County is working closely with the Pasco County Emergency Operations Center and Emergency Management Staff to assist in appropriate ways and mobilize corporations and citizens when safe to begin recovery efforts.
