Tell us about your business and your business philosophy.
Windsong Charters & Boat Rentals wants to be your one-stop provider for water recreation. We offer sailing charters, fishing charters, kayaks, canoes, stand up paddle boards and pontoon boat rentals. We are proudly only one of two companies in the county to be licensed, contracted and insured with the State of Florida to provide off shore services at Anclote Key State Park. This allows us to offer island weddings, island BBQs, family reunions, birthday parties and so much more on one of the most gorgeous natural resources, right here in our back yard.
Our philosophy is simple. Have the best price for the best product and provide the best customer service. Boating is and can be affordable for everyone.
Why are you passionate about your commitment to United Way’s Community Investment Fund?
It’s exciting to have the opportunity to “pool resources” and donations to do the most good in our community. Through collaboration, we are able to help and reach far greater numbers of those in need working together, rather than individually.
What is something interesting or surprising that most people don’t know about you?
I wasn’t always Capt. Wendy of Windsong. I had a private practice that provided behavioral, cognitive and educational therapy for children with moderate to severe disabilities, along with psychological/emotional/social support services for their families. While all disorders/disabilities were treated, my expertise was Autism. I’m also an Extreme Travel Junkie. 47 US States, 56 countries, 6 continents and counting.
What would your older self tell your younger self?
HA! That’s waaaaaay too much to write in this little space!
Never regret the things you’ve done; only the things you haven’t.
