2011 Campaign Kick-Off Breakfast
On September 8th, United Way of Pasco County held a kick-off breakfast at the Pasco Sherriff's F.O.P. Lodge in Land O'Lakes to announce the start of its annual fund raising campaign for 2011. Campaign Chair, Angie Gardner announced the goal of $1,565,000. The event host was United Way of Pasco County Board Chair, Shawn Foster, and the keynote speaker was County Commissioner, Hon. Ann Hildebrand.
2011 Stuff the Bus
On the weekend of July 29-31, 2011, United Way of Pasco County organized a school supply drive for Pasco County Teachers. 15 school buses staffed by hundreds of teachers who volunteered their time were located at various Wal-Mart and Publix stores across Pasco County to collect donations. Over $70,000 worth of supplies and over $6,000 in cash and gift cards was donated. The supplies were distributed to the teachers who signed up and volunteered, and the remainder of supplies along with the cash and gift cards were donated to the Pasco County School district offices for distribution to schools throughout the county.
Publix Check Presentation
Publix associates and Publix Charities donated over $795,000 to United Way of Pasco County during the 2010 Campaign. Store managers and representatives from Publix Corporation were on hand at the United Way of Pasco County office to present the check.
2011 Day of Caring Photo Gallery.
United Way of Pasco County annually holds a "Day of Caring" where a cadre of volunteers from Publix, Bank of America, Ferman Auto, and a variety of other companies spread out across the county and perform services for a variety of non-profit agencies, the County Parks Department and United Way of Pasco County partner agencies. This year we had over 375 volunteers with over 300 of them from Publix Supermarkets in Pasco County!
