Hundreds of volunteers signed up to be part of the 5 day Stuff the Bus for Teachers’ school supply drive event. The Pasco County community responded to the call! Volunteers from schools, businesses, churches, Rotaries and other organizations came together to support the annual Stuff the Bus for Teachers. “We are always appreciative of the positive response we receive from our Pasco County community,” said Duggan Cooley, President/CEO, United Way of Pasco County, “We are proud to provide a free box of school supplies to over 1,000 Pasco County teachers for the new school year.”
July 29 – July 31, school supplies were collected at Walmart Supercenter stores throughout the county. Monday, August 1-2, hundreds of volunteers helped to sort and pack boxes for the teachers at Ridgewood High School in New Port Richey. An estimated $35,000 worth of supplies were donated by shoppers and local businesses. Special thanks to community partners Walmart and The Pasco County School District, as well as generous sponsors Bright House Networks, 208 Monkey LLC, Bank of America, Community Service Council, 3M, Sunshine Health, Team Farrell and Junior Service League of Greater New Port Richey among numerous local business and community leaders.
